Try doing a search in Yahoo Explorer. Yahoo show you ALL of the links to your site, where as Google do not. Or signup for Google webmaster tools as you can see all backlinks in there.

Yes Google Does not show all the backlinks there where you are searching it just shows quality of them so if you want to know the exact status see the webmaster tool.
Yahoo site explorer is a good way to see all the backlinks but yahoo site explorer provides you no follow link too which it doesn't consider for page rank.
apart from these their are many tools which provides you with the status.
But in the mean time just continue with safe and quality link building may be you see start in increase in your back link.

And the backlink must deep and quality.
